A Pre-emergent treatment prevents the majority of weeds from sprouting up through the soil. That’s why it is very important that your lawn is treated with a Pre-emergent in the spring, before the weed growth starts.
Post-emergent weed control comes into play for any weeds that slipped through the pre-emergent barrier. The Post-emergent is used multiple times throughout the year as needed to keep the weed population in check.
